This policy explains what information Conference Catalog ("we", "us") collects when you use conferencecatalog.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: your first and last name, email address, and password when you create an account. Passwords are stored only in hashed (irreversibly encrypted) form.
- Content you add: conference ratings and reviews, favorites, forum topics and replies, and your forum email subscriptions.
- Technical information: like most websites, our server records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect forms against forgery. We do not use advertising cookies.
How we use your information
- To run your account and show the content you create (your name appears as first name and last initial next to reviews and forum posts).
- To send service emails: confirming your email address, password reset links, and — if you're subscribed to a forum topic — notifications of new replies.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not send marketing email.
Forum email notifications
Starting or replying to a forum topic subscribes you to email notifications for that topic. Every notification includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe from any topic page.
Third-party services
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and style and icon files from the jsDelivr content network. These providers receive your IP address when your browser requests those files, under their own privacy policies.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your account information while your account exists. You can update your name from My Profile. To delete your account, email support@conferencecatalog.com from the address on the account. Forum posts from deleted accounts remain visible but are shown as "Deleted user".
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain uses of it. Contact us to make a request and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password for this site.
Children
Conference Catalog is intended for adults and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
