Many conferences kept a virtual option after 2020. I've attended both ways. Virtual is cheaper and easier, but I retain much less.

In person for the big annual one, virtual for everything else. The hallway conversations can't be replicated online.
Virtual has been great for accessibility — I have a disability that makes travel really difficult. I hope the hybrid options stay.
I find recorded sessions more useful than live virtual ones. I can watch at 1.5x and skip what isn't relevant.
